And to add what is so fundamentally disgusting about normies: They don't interact with the hobby because they enjoy it. They interact with it because it has gotten mainstream appeal and thus can be used as a way to get clout among others.
They don't care about the hobby itself and reject anything slightly controversial about it with complete mob mentality so they can make themselves look good to other normie-scum.
They are parasytes to any hobby, which is why the insult: "may your hobby hit mainstream appeal" is so grievous.
Case in point, Neuro-sama recently hit international attention and trended on twitter due to currently breaking her previous subathon record. Due to her being an AI(It is an extremely cool project, as a note, not slop unlike a lot of AI stuff), it attracted normie haters that very much ironically behaved like complete bots, only interacting with it with generic sludge in order to get clout among themselves without any clue what they were talking about.

And, a much more simple example: EA
Football fans kept buying their shitty rehash sports game and kept that corporation alive.

People can't just ignore things for some reason. I too don't really like Neuro-sama but I don't go out my way to shit and hate it.
