The TLDR for the entire arc.
Made it to the kingdom, got granted in sooner. The princess finds it super fishy and fucked up but she can't complain.
Her friend is being mind controlled.
The elves are almost as bad as the demons since they're killing elf babies and using them to fuel the tree.
Nui now realized that yes, two spirits in the princess and she wants to delete of the old man from her beloved princess.
She became the new elf king, using a demonic weapon. She has been given power and all the knowledge from the past.
She learned how to deal with this second spirit and plan on finally just killing him so the princess can eat his spirit and take control.
He told her to kill him since he doesn't know what's going on but she does. She realized that, she actually has been with the old man for a while. Long enough for her to realized she can use "Always" with him. Which made her hesitate.
Her friend got upset with that, with how much she cares for them and didn't give a shit about her.
Nui told her 'I knew you sold me out bitch' when the friend was trying to play the pity card and then the friend realized the she got found out and try to beg for forgiveness.
They started fighting. The princess had to step in and tell them to cut that shit out and talk while freeing the friend from the mind control for a moment.
They did since they still care about each other. We the readers wouldn't understand that since it was only a few pages worth of flashback with Nui just covering for her. "Ooooh, she didn't stop me with a nail!"
The other elves attempt to attack the princess since she's clearly the reason why things aren't going as plan.
The princess can't move as much as she like due to the demon sword impaling her and her being down an eye.
The Knight show us he's Emiya this entire time.
The high up elf was not having any of that and weaponized the elf babies to control both the girls and cut into the princess.
That should explain to those who doesn't understand what's going on lol.
It does feel a little rushed tho. Since we got to this place, their feet have been on the gas. Not a lot of time to build the characters and alotta characters are sidelines/not acting themselves like the princess is just standing around and only pops up for one liners, just 'Let's get this place out of the way ASAP'. Give off the impression it might get axed and they're trying to at least finish this arc before a deadline.
I don't think most people actually know there's a second soul inside the princess? At least, not in a way that comprehends the princess' personality change/second skill tree are because there's an entirely different person inside of her.At this point the party has known for a while that someone else's soul inhabits the princess, and not ONCE have they ever had a conversation about it. Nobody has tried talking to the princess (or the other person inside her) about it, the dark elf lady is doing all this completely without any input from anyone else which makes it all the more frustrating to read. Nobody acts like a real person, and any opportunity for them to do so gets skipped.
Back in Chapter 48 (at the end of the previous arc), Lady Yomi revealed to the party (notably including Nui and the old servant guy) that there's someone else inside the Princess's body and that the two of them are putting extreme stress on her body. This is not new information to them. The only new part is that Nui saw what that other soul looked like for a brief moment, which really doesn't mean anything.I don't think most people actually know there's a second soul inside the princess? At least, not in a way that comprehends the princess' personality change/second skill tree are because there's an entirely different person inside of her.
We just saw Nui figure it out when she saw the princess teaching the kids to skip stones a few chapters ago, and the sunlight through the trees showed his original form. I find her reaction to that and the knowledge about what happens to the souls of a samsara user to be very real for a character.
