Long story short. Kakegurui + Eminence in shadow + NGNL type shit.
The least obvious Cid-inspired main character so far.
Wonder if Kanata would commit to the act as an unremarkable student like Cid does or the story just let him show off instead. I prefer the former outcome but the latter could serve as a great plot line of Kanata growing to accept his MC status.
Toru is such an obvious trap lol.

Too early to say right now it's more like Liar liar and Is it tough being a best friend especially if it turns out the other transfer student is a girl and the MC keeps trying to push her to be the MC role. Other than both MC being the chuuni archtype there's not much similarities to Eminence. If you haven't noticed he's basically developed borderline eighth-grader syndrome. And looking at the raws it does seem to be more similar to liar liar and him trying to be chuuni.

If you haven't read "is it tough being a friend" you should read it because he's basically what the MC in this one is trying to be and may fail at in a similar manner. Fits more than cid like the other guys says. When I first read it those two were my first thoughts and my other thought is he's gonna fail to be a supporting character in the exact same way.
