that said, it’s a very interesting detail That only the hero Can beat the demon Lord. I guess his hero status gives him some sort of debuff that makes him killable. And while mc is strong, he lacks that power and might not be able to beat him on his own, so killing The hero is probably a bad idea

When he was cast out of the party, he just felt empty and didn't have much hatred towards his former party members. He got his rage after finding one of his former party members who was left for dead with one of the demon lord's generals, so that the other party members could escape (see around chapter 21 when Toru found and saves her). She wasn't just sacrificed, but Toru also found out she was brainwashed and (sexually) abused on a regular basis. That would suggest the other two remaining party members are also brainwashed and treated the same way.
All of this hits extra hard, because the entire party was composed of childhood friends from the same village. One of which he was in a relationship with.

Is it rare, or just difficult to catch? The way they talk about it implies the latter. It wasn't 'this is a rare species' as much as 'you don't often find it on the market', and the party didn't seem surprised that he'd found one, only that he'd been able to catch it.
