That's why Time Travel is a tricky plot point to use : Multiverse is way easier to manage imho.
most of them bamboozle my brain, i stop liking series when they want to go that way (didn't like dr.stone ending because they wanted to go that way)
but when it's well written and not overcomplicated it's fine

okay sooooo idk if I'm getting this right or not

this timeline is the third reincarnation. First timeline is elira being evil n shit. Elria reincarnates which sends them back in time somehow and she meets reid. They both die and reincarnate AGAIN into the future. The other guy with guns was in the first timeline I'm guessing.

first branch extends, they reincarnate back into the first branch and then it splits off because elria doesnt become a demon queen ig

From what I understood, it's basically that with a caveat: Elira turning back the clock created a new world, since that very act is magic and the point in time she targeted didn't have that. So the world retconned itself into having magic from the start, leading to the evil empire's destruction in a butterfly effect.

As for the initial world's continuation and the alien hero, I guess the empire decided that it didn't have enough to invade in the original world and is eyeing the current one.

On another note, I'm on the fence with this twist. I know some stories have done the whole "time travel" stick and managed not to completely fail, so I'll wait and see.

Well if it is linear time traver from the perspective of mc, it is not that hard. Just treat different timeline like a different world and voila it easier to follow.

Beside it is only 2 timeline, where 1 is only for backstory/past, and where we are know / current time.

I am confused. So if eluria is sent back in time why has she no memory like little tiana? If she has a new start why not in her orignally time period but 1000 years prior where Raid was born? Two time jumps?

And when both reincarnate 1000 years later (our timeline) should there not be an elven eluria born and living with her dad? Or timeline changed so much that her birth in this time period never happend?

And how is raid so strong? Is he successor of the Hero in the future who help eluria or has elurias dad just use the same Hero-Spell on Raid? Even then the future hero told that they will not strong enough to defeat demon queen eluria in the next time. So is eluria stronger than raid or was demon queen eluria stronger than our eluria? And where does the evil hero got his power when not from the reincarnation of the future hero since he seem to come from this orginally timeline.

And still no answer who the evil elf teacher from the dragon girl is? Would make no sense for elurias dad as he is now a girl and why would he attack his daughter with the guardians dragon.

But it is now clear why the guardian dragon wanted to kill eluria if the magic was drawn from the future the guardian dragon maybe misstook eluria for demon queen eluria.

And has eluria dad reincarnate raid and eluria with some future knowledge since eluira does not know this spell?

Are these alternate realities even necessary?
I mean, is storytelling itself necessary? Of course not. However, telling stories adds flavors to our world, so here we are.

In this case, the author thought it would add flavors to his story, so we just have to wait and see how he cooks. Just treat time-travel and alternate timelines as a spice: some authors manage to make it entertaining while others suck at dosing it. Some people love the stuff while others hate it with a passion.
