Correct, the sequels have all been intentionally subverted by Mai and the gang. This time Machiya gets to the George L figure before it's too late

There should be at least 3 questions/villains still out standing, whether or not we'll get answers to them or not, that's a different question: 1) The third founder is still outstanding although he may have some connection to the mekakure kid 2) Machiya's mother and what happened to her, is she still alive (personally I think she's the current villain)? 3) Mai's sister what happened to her, she was never shown to have been killed like the parents (could she be Kisara? especially now with her dissoiative state being introduce and her having the same hairstyle as Mai). In addition why doesn't Machiya remember being friends with Mai in their youth?

The good news is we should be having a face off with the main villain since the next one should be a sequel to the Vtuber/Zombie arc. If it really goes the way of a sequel maybe the old guy faked his death.
