In my country you can get 10 or more single meals with that much amount of money. 3 to 4 if we are only talking about set meal at a restaurant.2000 yen for a set meal is expensive? That's only around 11€, that's cheap if anything. =/
1€ meals? Very affordable! I think over here the cheapest you can expect in any kind of restaurant is about 12€, if you want something decent. Usually that’d be either a Chinese restaurant or an immigrant run kebab/pizza place. There are some places where you might get a pizza for 8€, but it’s not going to taste like anything. Any “normal” restaurant would be more like 20, fancy places starting from 40.In my country you can get 10 or more single meals with that much amount of money. 3 to 4 if we are only talking about set meal at a restaurant.
IIRC, few years back when I visited Japan, one meal set was roughly 1300-1500 yen on average, so 2000 is quite a premium over that. You can get extra side dish, good coffee and such with the same budget2000 yen for a set meal is expensive? That's only around 11€, that's cheap if anything. =/
