I went and found the old translation of chapter 3 on UTOON’s website (don’t think I’m supposed to link to that) and it’s a very basic continuation; nothing weird or outrageous happens in it. There’s a few close-up panels of cleavage I guess… which is pretty tame by manga standards.

I have no idea why @kyukuji said they’re not supposed to upload it.

Seriously, you can't just drop a line like that and expect us to be fine without any sort of elaboration.

If it's the staff, then you're free to tell us what's going on. We all know that they're not like some kind of gestapo who like to silence people. It's perfectly fine to tell us what they said on the matter.

In fact, I'm sure they'd prefer it that way because then, other would-be scanslators would know a bit better about what's okay, and what isn't okay.

I'm gonna be blunt with you.

THERE ARE NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER THAT GIVES A SCANSLATION GROUP ANY RIGHT TO DICTATE WHAT OTHER SCANSLATORS CAN AND CANNOT DO.

It is completely counter to Mangadex's core tenets - that being that the staff actually does want multiple translations of titles so that we can pick and choose which translation we like better.

Whatever it is, please do elaborate.

I think you're right about that.

UTOON was banhammered for paywalling advanced chapters. There were also other issues that made the group problematic, like altering page compositions to better fit the long-strip format they use on their site - this screws up the side-scrolling option MD has available, and you get the bottom end of one page in the top part of the next page. They were also adding censorship where there was none in the original raws. (I think their excuse was that they're in Indonesia and have to deal with some absolutely ridiculous public decency laws.)

But yeah, the paywalling was the last straw for the staff, so with that in mind, I'm sure they'd prefer it if no one posted any links to their website.

Last i checked, our ridiculous anti-booba laws don’t affect scanlations since it’s not official publication. Far as the law’s concerned, scanlations are none of their business except when it crosses the threshold of outright shameless profitable piracy, as with most other countries.
