Kinda feel a little bad for the guy who got transformed into a demon slime despite him being a huge d*ck.
Same, and also because it feels to me like a lame revenge porn plot. I was hoping fungus power fat dude story done already a couple of chapters back but nope, gotta make him even more pathetic and get mc(and his posse) another go at him.:haa:

Thanks for the upload!

They should take Rihalzam faster. He will surely cause more troubles in the city since he is basically a demon fungus right now. He might cause some "The Last of Us" outbreak sooner or later.

Sooner. The next arc is all about fighting Rihalzam. And it makes all the buildup worth it.

What would you have them do? Kalin is the local lord tasked with developing that borderland wilderness. There's zero reason for her to do anything about the capital's situation. If the country can't defend its own capital from something a remote local lord could defend her own domain from, then the capital, if not the whole country, is already doomed beyond what a local lord could handle. In that case, it's even more imperative that she tries to look after the people directly under her protection.

Selling the crystals is her way of helping the whole country, though. Those crystals power the older generation, reliable magic pistols. Those pistols are still present everywhere, in villages and towns, but now Kalin's domain is the only steady supply of ammunition, thanks to the schemes by the corrupt capital officials and the Alchemist Association. As long as Kalin's domain keeps selling the crystals, people can actually defend themselves. That's even more important if the capital is lost and the country falls into chaos. Then nobody can necessarily rely on the army.

She made exactly the correct choice, 100%.

Let me guess, you made this post after reading chapter 36 earlier in the day. :lul:

Nah, I made the comment after this very chapter (22.1). I'm not rereading this manga, first timer here. Even now, writing this reply, the latest chapter I've read is 24.1. It's always kind of dodgy to reply to older comments when there are multiple later chapters available, I do realise that. Most likely the person I'm replying to is much, much wiser already thanks to later chapters, so it's possible they can't even reply back without spoiling. Sorry about that, but I just felt like this was kind of a general topic, regardless of what happens later. After all, at this point, Kalin doesn't know anything more, either, so her decision would be also based on what happened in the story up till 22.1. That sort of thing.
