Yeah. Just goes to show how truly powerful guns and cannons are. If they had more support and not forced to engage in a bayonet charge, finishing that specific battle with zero deaths might be entirely possible, but alas.

They aren't out of the woods just yet. The little trick MC just pulled may have won this battle, but it's not going to work with them on guard the next time.

Even assuming they don't pursue, MC is still going to have to deal with a 3 days or so of marching in current conditions.

Is there a way for them to bring back some proof that they at least managed to fight some pursuers and won?
I suppose I just want them to get something out of this because this is worse than Fort Zeffel.

At least there, their inital orders were to be reinforcements for the fort and then things went to hell (so, okay-ish to bad). Compared to this where they were put under command of whatever Duke Zichberg was, and now have to retreat with very limited supplies.

For real. If this was a real engagement and not a manga, <60 line infantry and 5 cannon versus 100 cavalry, they would have taken at least a dozen killed. It's a miracle that only one soldier went down during the bayonet charge.

Shlt, it's a sad day for rain.

Brutal af. One girl got an arrow to the neck, probably went down wheezing then drowned in own blood. Another got her arm cut right off. At least 2 got fatal wounds to the stomach. Rip Lela.

Wonder what MC gonna do next. He thought about the lack of medical tech, but there's no much he could do without medical knowledge himself. And not sure he wants to reveal such knowledge to this world anyway. And even so, only Lela could maybe survive with better medical equipment. The other 3 didn't last long at all. Armors would be way too heavy for the girls. And I seriously doubt chainmail could provide enough protection. I suppose they could use backpack filled with sand or large shield as makeshift covers, but that depends on how the engagement would go.

... It all comes down to better guns with far longer range, isn't it ?
