with this formation, if they move left, they can shoot, sure, but only at the front of a long line of infantry, which is rather ineffective, and they'll get wiped out from superior firepower/numbers. if they move right, they struggle to shoot and are thus exposed to counter-attacks. so moving left is the better option, but will result in the cavalry getting annihilated.

About 10% of the population is left-handed. I'd create a special unit of left-handed horse archers specifically for countering directionally biased defensive formations like this. It's not like hand to hand combat, where the situation is symmetrical on both sides (left-handed vs right-handed swordsman = sword vs sword, and shield vs shield for both). You're able to leverage your strength against their weakess, at no disadvantage to yourself.

My mom (Asian) is left-handed. And she says growing up she was forced to use her right hand, and beaten whenever she tried to use her left. It's a good example of the stupid things that come about when people value conformity more than the advantages offered by diversity.

This manga is sooo good thanks for the chapter! Sad to have caught up now but I can now rest easy, knowing that I'll forget the dread I'm feeling rn until I see a new chapter!

I would hope that our MC is gonna screw over our allies HARD to maximize survival of our girls BUT even if he did, we're in the front lines so we're fucked anyways. That's 60 girls in direct danger rn. I'm expecting about half of them hurt n gone 😔😔😓😭

The very first panel is a mess of copy/paste, to the point it's a bit hard to look at - just look at the front line of soldiers!

It would have been better, albeit somewhat slower, to draw little squiggle figures than use a brush or two that automatically draw the same solider like that. Granted, crowd scenes like that are always notoriously difficult to draw, but this is one is one of the few I've really noticed as being quite bad (in a comic that usually has fairly great art, no less).
