It's been a long while since I did "KAngel's Fact of the day!", old heads would remember about it...or probably not... But here's today's Fact of the day!!!

The word salary actually comes from the Latin salarium, which is built from sal, meaning “salt.” And back in ancient Rome, salt wasn’t just something you sprinkled on food!!! it was genuinely important for survival, mainly because it helped preserve food! That made it pretty valuable, like a basic necessity everyone needed. There’s a popular idea that Roman soldiers were literally paid in salt, but that’s not really true, they were paid in money. Still, their pay may have included an allowance meant for buying salt, which is where the connection comes from. Over time, people stopped thinking about salt entirely, and the word just shifted to mean regular pay. So yeah, every time you hear “salary,” it’s kind of a leftover from a time when salt was a big deal!!

Now that I think about it, KAngel's Fact of the day was actually created to battle the non-activity of the CCT which at the time used to be barely active with 2 pages of content on an extremely good day and almost no messages on a bad day, which is extremely opposite of current state of CCT with extreme saturation, new gens might not even be able to fathom the idea of CCT being dead for days....
