Kudou is still alive, so the headcanon of Dumb Mutt Girlfriend being a shadow spin-off/sequel is still valid.

To be honest, when she was first introduced, I was a bit iffy on Kudou (this manga has too many characters imo) but she's by far my favourite at this point. There were many times when she made me lol by being such a freak, and also a moustache twirling villain.

In this chapter I felt really bad for her, I really hope she gets a good ending even if its not necessarily what she deserves. In my eyes she somewhat has a point that Naoi bears SOME responsibility for the way she is. If you had someone violently awaken something inside you, and create an itch only this one person could scratch it would be fairly reasonable to be pissed about it... Its clear from how she acts that Naoi is an addiction for her, she has much less of a choice in enjoying these things. Kurumi taking away Naoi will force her to go cold turkey.

Even if she is a manipulating, possibly maybe rapist(?), villain im still routing for her. Somebody here said it jokingly but maybe she could reform a bit and get with Kokoro, it weirdly makes sense (obviously a bit unlikely tho).

Im quite curious to see where this whole thing is going to end up, there are so many loose ends that really need to be tied up. To be completely candid, some of the writing has been a bit whacky in places so it makes me even more interested how it will end (crazy writing in MY down to earth realistic wholesome yuri?!?!).

For example the Mother was a very interesting character but all of a sudden when the plot wants to move forward past her it just jettisons her off into goofyland. "Hey Kurumi its your gramps here telling you that your crazy old Mama is staying with us for a while, hope she doesnt miss any vital information while shes here! <3" Those really interesting comparisons between Kokoro and the Mother wouldve been even more meaningful if she was still there in some small capacity.

In general I think the manga started out amazing and exciting but kinda dipped a bit in the middle of whats been released so far. I feel like the relationship between Naoi and Kurumi got buried under a mountain of other characters and drama and they just didn't evolve at all until the more recent chapters.

Regardless, I love this manga and it's characters even if I have some stuff to say. Enjoy the word salad whoever decided to read this, loser.

I think the shift from the "anticipates the series ending at volume 3" and "anticipates the series to go on for a long time" plans was very noticeable. The author's never had a long-running series prior to this one. And yuri series typically do end at volume 3 unless they get very popular. Most likely volume 2 was the same in both plans. It's why alot of people said chapter 10 felt like an open ending, since it was likely meant as the original ending to the school drama, before Kurumi's mom was dealt with in volume 3 for the finale.

However the story being extended resulted in Kurumi's mom's resolution being pushed back, due to it being meant as part of the series finale. So, rather than keep her around, she was narratively put on a bus until her part of the story needs to be addressed. And all of the drama in their class was brought back along with Kudou's introduction in volume 3, so that the story could keep going and escalate.

I never thought about it like that honestly, I do think this series deserves to go on for more than 3 volumes but its a shame the transition was so shakey.
