A shame Laura blames herself, though I get how she reaches that conclusion.
The important bit though, is that she does not react the way the Priest presumed she would, or the way that Rick would have feared.
Laura's got a good head on her shoulders, that she could push through the sudden emotional turmoil and trauma and enter the fray with that level of determination.
And now that it's 2 on 1 and the Priest does not yet have the resistance to white magic that he was seeking, I think they'll be able to at minimum hold him off until Kachua and Liz arrive.
(Though if I'm honest...I hope Laura & Rick defeat the Priest on their own. It's their narrative moment, so it would only be appropriate to see them prevail here at this current climax of their character arcs.)
