The plot was & has always been to increase his favorability to the point where he won't be killed by the protag after defeat(success) while not completely derailing the main game story or events(debatable).

I feel the "awful UK slang" improves the work, as many of characters are Nobles or Knights & would speak in archaic ways compared to commoners due to "prestige". American English to me, has a less noticeable difference between high/low class speech due to being very era dependent.

You're not supposed to know the doctor's goals yet; however, Harold has drastically changed the backstories for most of the hero's party. Their statuses are now so different from the game version that they no longer harbor the same objectives.

Mild spoilers, but this will come up in the very next arc, which explores how this led to one of them losing their main drive.


You're going to have to wait months, if not years, between chapters if you follow the latest WN version of the story. And I'm not being hyperbolic.

At best this story is a 6/10 won't argue with you there, but our protag has chosen to try & follow a script with a semi-known outcome rather than completely free ball it.

Most people try to not die for as long as they reasonably can hence why "Survival" is such a popular trope especially in garbage stories. If you wanted "good writing" you should have bailed some 50 chapters ago

he is, actually Harold already said so long ago. The Doc was the Mastermind in the game as well.

It's not slang, no matter how abusive of the reader or original Japanese text it is. To stand in defense of translation and English from ko-fi beggar slopbots is the last place to be inconcise with it.
