If she do that she just proved everyone she's just a nepo baby. I can see his point of view as he's a jaded veteran in the industry who happen to get a boss with no experience with almost any job

Japanese worker culture is a bit different than most places. But I mean how would you feel if you busted your ass for the company working your way up to that position, only for BIG BOSS to create Outer Heaven kick the bucket and his brat get handed the reins to the company with virtually no experience?

I'd be a little salty and jaded too. It happens in corporate town. However it seems like at least one of em is coming around

Between their own worries and dealing/avoiding to deal with their personal grief, they probably haven't actually noticed that.

In the end it boils down to "I don't want my friend to go away", a new President (and one so seemingly different to start with) only makes them feel like they keep loosing whatever was left from their friend... Well, I think that's probably the case for Kishimoto at least.

You know every time I see the seniors talk about her and then inevitably reminisce about their friendship with her father, I always think back to my Dad’s “lunch bunch” from his working days. I bet those left in the group really miss him, I know when I briefly talked to them a few years back they had nothing but kind things to say about my dad.
