Well, let's hope he doesn't turn into gelato in the upcoming mission.
His name is (ゲラード) directly translated to "Ge" "Ra" "To"
So I suppose he really is a gelato

Oh yeah, If I think about it a bit more, I Think it suppose to be "Gerald" but I already pressed the upload button so I guess that's his name now.

and also it's quite funny so why not?

You mixed up the order of the panels on page 12 btw.
Thank you for the chapter. This is quite fun to read, and the art is fantastic.

I went and got the raws to check, and it's ゲラート. Since we're clearly in some form of western fantasy, I'd translate this as vaguely Germanic and get to Gerard Prushat or Prushadt. (Pronounced with a strong G, not a J like Jelato (Gelato)). Or if you want to aim more for Old French fantasy, Gerart is French.

Gerald would be ジェラルド normally so there is that, however Gara-do still corresponds to a real name: Garrard. Which is a pretty cool name of you ask me, I think its worth considering.
Unless you typo'd the katakana and it is gera-to, then maybe Geralt / Gerart (non-English). Japanese and their western fantasies... :aquadrink:

Funnily enough, my first instinct upon seeing ガラード was "Gallardo", like the Lamborghini :D.

I hope the big guy doesn't turn out to be an evil traitorous a-hole, like so many with his type of design do.
Also, wasn't MC one of the soldiers who fought AGAINST the empire, from my understanding? Shouldn't he/she want to continue that, and prove their abilities by fighting against other heroes? Seems kinda lame that they're so quick to change allegiances for whilst chasing their dream.

Okay, those "prisoners of calamity" definitely used to be human, right? You don't just use terms like "prisoner" and "metamorphosis" in the context of monsters and not imply that they're cursed humans.
