When the manga adaptation cooked so hard the original author approved the changes
"Reincarnated as the 7th Prince" Manga is also similar in that aspect.
While it's based plot is same as the Web/Light Novel, the Manga makes quite a few significant changes, that even the original author ended up retconning the Web/Light Novel to make it similar to the Manga (the Manga story is being handled by someone else, like this series)

Plus the Anime adaptation of that series is actually based on the Manga, rather than Light Novel, like normally done.

I hope the manga goes in a completely different direction, because last I heard in the wn,
both scarlet and zophie end up leaving the party for good.
what? so in original if both scarlet and zophie leaving then the party has only MC and saint ? Or will someone else replace both of them ?

I knew it was weird that she'd just let him feel her up, I even thought it was just a gag half chapter, she's throughly melted

Credit page made me think what if a popular ero-doujin artist was the one in charge for manga adaptation of a popular ln/wn, and it made me chuckle to think that the original author would be like "holy shit, you're improving the story with your art and erotism so let's make a whole new timeline for this work".

That is a very significant part of the narrative, so doubt that will change.

The manga is certainly a reboot where MC feels much stronger than his novel counterpart. This is because the novel starts at Sei's reincarnation, so we follow all his story, his family, his relationship as the heir of a noble family, his survival of an assassination plotted by his own family, his random adventures where he met new women (and a gay prince troupe), his first love, his first great loss, and that's where the manga started.

The manga starts a bit like OPM, with an experienced adventurer, but while the manga follows his abilities as they grew through the story, the manga goes over the top, with someone that looks like a super veteran. The relationships are also funnier.

Sei being left is part of the story, first he interacted with women knowing his stay would be somewhat temporary, later he fell in love, but then he felt the loss, and now, as much as he expects the girls to stay with him, they don't.

Zoffy in the manga usually mentions her former master, she will find him again, and will leave Sei. Because the master has money after all.

I can't remember how Scarlett leaves.

The adventurer Warrior girl that tried to stop Sei before ends up with a newbie adventurer, as sh teaches him the tropes.

Only the nun remains... But for how long?
She leaves him too, MC thinks she didn't like him after all, but she leaves for the opposite reason, and becomes a powerful Yandere who has to leave her love's side for some time to handle some "annoyances"

The main thing is that, he starts to believe he can't find or deserve love anymore after the loss of his loved one.

But there are women searching for him (who was declared dead), one is an Hero girl who he met when he was young, she appears later, and from there, his younger sister and former fiancee learn that he is alive, and get in action.

on a completely different note, my impression of Scarlet's childhood friends were that they were older and more mature, did not expect him to be depicted as a horny teenager.
I think if it goes this way, I can accept it as a temporary state of affairs.. I mean the WN is still ongoing right so as long as they come back and we get a harem adventures before the ending all is good :win:

bwahahahaha, I can't believe the author actually made MC suddenly turn into a straight-up NTR + blackmail doujin protagonist (even though it's just Ashtas imagination). and to top it off, Ashtas getting a massive boner just imagining Scarlett getting NTR'd is wild :kek:

thank you for translation
inb4 she doesn't even cover for the cost of one :v

I think the editor also has a say to this since they are the one who give a go signal if the manga is good for release. They might be the bridge between the author and the artist.

Also, hoping scarlett returns if she ever leaves for her childhood friend. I like the banters between her and MC even if they become sex friends. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Yep, I totally imagined Ash to be some muscular stud that was into milfs. Now, after seeing what he really looks like, I can understand why he was portrayed this way. Mainly due to the shota x milf trope.

WN readers that can spoil what the TL was talkin bout on the last page- what happens with the heroine trio? The way its worded made me think some real fucked shit at first but then again I could be over thinking it lmao
If the manga doesn't make any drastic changes from next chapter, then Scarlett will leave the party for good. Mostly likely next chapter. After this, the remaining trio decide to look for another party to join. They join the party of the guy in the first chapter kicking out Sei.

After finding out the new party leader is incompetent, after kicking Sei out, the rest of the party leave too and join Sei. Essentially kicking out the incompetent party leader. Later, we see Anita approach the incompetent leader and starts showing him the ropes of being an adventurer. I think this is when Anita stops selling her body like she used to. Sei and Anita have sex a couple of times before this.

Now, in the new party we have Sei, Zoffie, Luna plus 3-4 other girls. This is when Sei tries to "1-up the chairman" and get Zoffie to forget him. However, just as Sei needed only needed 1 more time to get her to forget the chairman, she reunites with the chairman and leaves the party then and there.

Luna stays with Sei for a long time and would stay with him for longer if she didn't have to fulfill her Saint duties. In the end, she also leaves the party.

I've read the rest of the webnovel so I can say for certain that we don't see any of them again after this.

I hope that changes because Zoffie is best girl.

So, scarlet ended up falling for MC and won't leave the party now? Or she wanna leave because she didn't want to become dependent on him?
most likely she's leaving because of what zofi said to luna in the last page of ch. 28. this chapter i think is the backstory for why she is leaving.

In the novella, Ashtas was into MILFs because his first love was a female veteran adventurer. He didn't think about Scarlett at all, except for her help as a mage.

Also, even though this trio is leaving the MC, he’s constantly finding new girls. His constant change of partners begins right from the start, when he’s still a child (he starts sleeping with his maids).

And most importantly, the author posted a new chapter in January (as a separate novella). The events describe what will happen 15 years later — and it looks like the author has given up on the story. First of all, most of his women are pregnant or have his children (including Luminaria). At the same time, it seems the kingdom never found out about him (meaning there’s no political development). He can teleport long distances and, with his harem, take on challenges in the most difficult dungeon. Overall, it’s disappointing. If he wrote such a spoiler for the story, I doubt he’ll return to it.

Yeah it was very bizarre and out of character for Scarlett to just let Sei grope her all over like that, especially in front of her childhood friends.
For all we know the kid might just be imagining those ntr moments and Sei and Scarlett were acting normal(banter), he was already getting a hardon from the idea after all.

Structurally they kind of have to. As long as Lunamiria clearly won’t be getting any dick despite being the “first girl” and clearly in love with Sei, then all other female characters hes fucking will get to outshine her.

Narratively the only the only way for an author to balance that out (if the want to keep delaying her development and any activity between her & Sei) is to remove the other female characters and cycle in/out new ones periodically.

There’s nothing stopping them from returning in future (and if this runs for long enough they absolutely will at some point), but right now this is the most likely course of action based on how its been written so far.

In a way his delusions came true at the end there.

Don’t forget that we already know she leaves the party per stuff from last chapter
