I haven't got the tiniest clue as to why there was an outage, but saying there aren't any scraping bots is hilarious, I bet the souls of three forum regulars theres dozens, if not hundreds of scrapers constantly probing MD. Also, Spam Bots do post, or else @barto wouldn't have PTSD from SEA Gambling bots (gambling ads should be banned btw). It's just that most of them are thankfully getting caught by spam filters, but sometimes they do get through.

yep, hit the nail on the head. bots are everywhere these days, and expecting them to not be on a site that receives as much traffic as MangaDex would be nonsensical. i'm running 8 scraping bots on the site right now, and that's just one person. it scales up exponentially once you get into the real botfarm industry.
