Wow that switch from Mandarin to Portuguese surprised me. This some high quality stuff.

He's likely a merchant or diplomat, or at the very least obviously someone with reason to have travelled to China and learnt their language. I wonder if it'll be at all relevant (maybe with this young master mentioned?) or if it just serves as an explanation for him washing up in Japan. Having read the French comic would probably help, but I don't believe it's necessary.

Love the style of this.

Also, it's not just that he is taller than a normal Japanese person, the average Japanese commoner back then was severely malnourished and smaller due to that. Also, being that he has red hair and is huge it's likely that he's either of nordic or Dutch heritage, Dutch makes the most sense as they were avid traders and studied all the languages related to trade.

This is purely speculation though.
