If you showed someone who has never read a single chapter of this nor read the premise, they probably think this is some messed up hentai... I mean I couldn't say they're wrong with how the Phoenix's neck & throat are drawn. The author clearly is on something to make this but hey this made it past 15 volumes & got an anime adaption so they are doing something right (or maybe the Japanese readers have an odd taste).
