888 ingredients? I bet the real amount is 831, but the ancestor alchemist who designed the pill thought 888 would sound damn nice and mysterious (and symmetrical enough to satisfy Death the Kid), so he threw in some meaningless placebo weeds to raise the number sufficiently.

@Kyujyu everything he's doing is for two main reasons, both which require him to be more powerful to do - save his master, and so he can be with his true love who left with her clan because he was too weak to help her handle the weight she carries for her clan.

I know that was his 2 main objective but what about his side quests? The one i can remember:
1. Go to pill tower to get some recipe (which he never seems to contact them after separated)
2. Create some pill for queen's baby ( i think it was done but he didn't pass it to queen yet)
3. Rank up along the way
4. Save the loli serpent(?) (i think the clan that took the loli is good guys so just visit her perhaps)
5. This arc(???)

1. He's on his way to the tower and the competition, but the wormholes are like riding the public bus: he has to make connections since he got thrown off at the wrong stop.

2. You are correct in that he made the pill, but hasn't delivered it yet.

3. Work in progress.

4. It was discovered that snake loli was taken by a good sect and they're treating her well by one of the elders at an auction who was killed by one of the rotten people at said auction. He now needs to stop by to visit snake loli as well as inform the sect of the happenings behind the elder's death.

5. This arc was supposed to be another step in getting him to the Central area to meet up at the pill tower, but as usual, he got sidetracked because this fire sect has the next stage in one of his super moves.
