Thinking on it, I feel the need to expound on what a fucking idiot Tooru actually is.

And Tooru is both keeping that info to himself, and plans to just publicly murder Sain with no explanation to his many allies in high places.

Which is both an insane disservice to his allies and just the stupidest possible way of going about it.

When what he should be doing is (1) alerting his high ranking allies that "hey, Sain has at-will mind control, you're in danger when you meet him" and (2) getting it out there that he mind-controls his party members and sold the Saint into slavery.

(They haven't met and appraised him yet, so they don't know it only works on women lower-level than Sain. But that's still most queens and princesses, I would think.)

Tooru could turn Sain into a wanted criminal if he actually bothered to leverage any of the connections he's earned and evidence he's obtained. As opposed to killing Sain out of the blue and turning himself into a pariah.

And there's a work-around for the whole "we need Sain to slay the demon king" issue.

Which is just fucking magically enslave him and force him to carry out his duty. That's absolutely a thing that can be done in this setting.

Tooru doesn't have to murder Sain; he could turn Sain into property with the blessing of the alliance, make him do the thing he was born for, and then legally dispose of him.

It's the 'main character' problem. Practical solutions involve communication with relevant parties and educating others on what you know. That isn't as 'exciting' or 'sexy'. If you want to be the 'one true savior' and not share in any of the glory then you can't properly guide or lead people, then you can only force your way.

I guess the issue is that in a world were slavery is legal the fact that he cucked a party member and braiwashed the girls is not gonna considered a big deal. He is still the hero, despite his failures. He still have a special status. So what's he is gonna get from authorities is basically just a slap on the wrists.

Even if the authorities don't care about the people he's hurt, the fact that he can mind control the authorities should still put them on red alert.

The point isn't just that Sain is a scumbag, it's that he's a existential threat. (The possibility that the Church wouldn't even care that he sold the Saint would be kind of funny, though. The Epstein Class flocks together, I suppose.)

It's worth remembering that Tooru doesn't know that Sain can "only" instantly enslave lower-level women, which still matters for every country run by a civilian queen (of which we've seen at least one).

Now that I'm think about it, I'm surprised Sain didn't enslave that queen when he had the chance. Though perhaps he had enough negative experiences testing girls that had just happened to be power-leveled by Tooru that he didn't dare.

I don't think he know how his power work at all.
Also it depend how much authorities would take seriously the "existential threat" of a guy able to insta-bang every woman he look in the eyes.
Mind you, is not like i don't overally agree that he could take different actions. But at this point i think he just don't want cause he want Sain dead. But is difficult to empathize this fury considering how slowly he took actions after he discovered that his companions and his former girl were brainwashed.

@The_H_Guy He doesn't just fuck his victims; he can force them to do things that will result in grievous harm to themselves. Which resulted in the one girl trying to fight a hopeless battle to the death because Sain told her to, the Saint meekly accepting being sold into slavery, and all of the girls just putting up with it whenever Sain got violent with them.

I'm pretty sure a woman that falls victim just starts doing whatever Sain tells them to, with at best a vague inkling that something is wrong. It's basically a better D&D-style Charm effect, because it doesn't ever break from Sain's own actions. (Classic D&D style Charm breaks immediately if you attack the victim.)

Sain's fucking stupid too, so all he uses it for is immediate carnal satisfaction and getting away with flagrant abuse.

He probably could just take over a kingdom, though.

Edit: I suppose it's on brand for Sain if he has "Kill Yourself"-level mind-control and all he thinks to use it for is NTR.

Sure there are exceptions but those are mostly outright hentai with just a bit more plot than "normally".

Like the only people depicted having actual sex are enemies, bad and/or evil people. Slain or whats the asshole hero name, once again is shown fucking girls enough to be exhausted, after he just got rid of the priest girl, and replaced her with a higher level one probably a demon judging by her eyes. The demon "one of great generals" was basically having fun with two demonesses when dude came with info about reinforcements on humanity side. (I put it in spoiler cause its from next chapter - donna wanna have issues XD)

While MC is depicted like some kinda nice guy, like even kissing seems to be out of possibilities. Like they are waiting for marriage or something.

Not only. I've been pointing out for years that being the MC of a shonen/seinen manga/anime kind of sucks cause only the bad guys are allowed to bang the girls. Or secondary characters in general.
Things tend to be different in shojo/josei.

@Insignis and @The_H_Guy -- I can only assume that the inability of the typical shounen/seinen MC to get laid is supposed to make him more relatable. Just like making him a doormat or a fucking idiot is also supposed to make him more relatable.

This story has the extra oddity of setting up a main couple where the MC owns his romantic interest, she's a minor, and he isn't. Vol 1 of the LN, which is largely first person PoV from Tooru, has him explicitly view Kaede as a child and off-limits.

The manga plays up that Kaede's mature beyond her years, the LN plays up that she's actually a kid in an adult's body due to magic bullshit.

I'm sure it's easier to do those things to others that aren't related by blood. The further away, the easier it is to do that.
