Thanks for the series! By far the oldest manga I've read. The wild racism was kind of surprising, but I assume Tezuka was just inspired by stuff like TinTin and picked it up there.

This was uh...a fascinating look into the beginning of an all-time greats career.
But god, it was a lot of racism and really convenient plot shit.

Gonna be honest and I think like New Treasure Island, this is very inspired by Floyd Gottfredson's Mickey Mouse comics. Would love to do a dive into that like Ryan Holmberg did, but I don't have the time.
