I love this chapter. We get a lot of anxiety these days to succeed on as early as possible in life or to succeed on our first try at things, but life isn't a race, and there's room for failures and that's ok. Take your time and look around. There are things one can only see when they're not in a hurry.

I know of cram schools for high school and college entrance exams but haven't heard of one for middle school entrance...
and even the cram schools have their own entrance exams it seems?? Can someone explain please...

I don't like this. Both should have been selfish at this very day. This was a poor decision. Sure it made 3 people happy, but the cost is to high for one short life to waste a year. Any day after could have been the one that might have been to late. Yes I get it. But the responsibility was not on theirs.

How will the old man feel like, hearing a little kid missed her once a year entrance exam and the little girl's struggling single parent missed his important presentation? The old man even tried to tell them as much. I feel like Masamune really doesn't want to continue in his current job, which would be no wonder considering he's not that good at it, so he's accepting more and more excuses to reach a point where he will be told he should quit.
