As someone who loves blood art attacks (which stems from when I fought Maria in Bloodborne), I-Wa no contest. The Merrow fight was interesting but I-Wa also has a bunch of cool gimmicks--players having to fight their own party, status effects galore, can't be solved with brute force, etc.

Thanks for the tl.

Honestly liked I-Wa more,
Desert Merrow is mostly like the usual boss we've been used to with specific weakness spot but the battle area makes it much harder to fight.
I-Wa on the other hand had a unique gimmick people needs to figure out and forcing the need of a full raid team to have realistic chance of dealing with it.

Won't call the former bad, but a fresh one is always nicer.

This goes a bit into spoilers. From what I remember from WN. LN wise they may have changed details so I’m not quite sure if something got changed.

Crim technically does attend school online when school starts at first. But due to being in a female avatar, Kou talks quietly to avoid misunderstandings, but everyone assumes Kou is a shy girl anyway. They assume because she’s hospitalized, that she is shy, frail and needs protecting. And we still haven’t gotten to this point.

Crim also needs to start streaming soon at some point as that is one of the key points of her popularity later.

We still haven’t gotten to the whole guilds version of battle royale that is supposed to happen later where multiple guilds are involved, this determines the three demon lords. And establishes the rivalry between Sorleon and Crim.

Once that is over, Crim is finally able to be released from that pod finally so she can go to school. It is only then Kou discovers the gender and racial change from being human boy to what she originally was supposed to be a half-vampire girl. When she attends school the first time in person. She is very popular instantly, the girls in the class already form a protective group around her as the earlier impression isn’t easily gotten rid of yet. Since they still assume she’s a shy fragile girl at the beginning.

I saw in manga raws that show Kou’s mom, Kou looks like her.
Knew it thanks for the info.

Also chibi crim :)

So... we gonna do something with the whole plot that he's literally stuck in the game and genderswapped? What about that thing where they hinted his mom was a vampire or something?? Hello????

Apparently that'll get touched on later but we still are going through the day to day mmo shenanigans first

It seems that I was the only one who had some trouble following the last few chapters of that fight.

thanks for chapters

I dont think it was defeated if ONI NPC are this intelligent monster and boss must also have a sort of intelligence that allows them to decide i think.

100 chapters later

bring ur snacks and blankies boys and girls we're going for the heat death of the universe
Nothing new to me, I grew up and got a good job over several years by the time some of my favorite LN adapted mangas got to some of their best arcs

I would like to make one correction on the WN, not relevant to your direct point, but I do think it's worth noting:
In the WN it was explained that Kou's gender change was unexpected. Male vampires exist, and Kou's parents were expecting either a male human or male vampire. Why Kou's Y chromosome was changed to an X when male vampires exist, I couldn't tell you, that's just what happened.

Aesthetically, I like Desert Merrow mech shit.

But mechanics wise, I can't swim. :notlikethis:
