First of all, some praise. I was fully convinced that this chapter was going to be Sakura's fuck fest while Shinobu kept working and trying to call in the in-betweens.

She made something a bit different.

Sakura was drawn with dead eyes almost dissociating. It's not that she wants to break up with Shinobu, but after getting ran over by the fucboi, she can't even bear any kind of communication with Shinobu. This tells me that at this point she isn't even thinking about Shinobu cheating, she is fully in "what have I done" mode. Being with the fucboi now is actually kind of realistic. If she doesn't stay with the fucboi then it was all for nothing and she is left with nothing.

This is what I think the author's setup with this chapter is regarding her. But, do I give a fuck? Not really and neither do most of the readers.

Now Shinobu is front and center of the manga. The readers who will still pay (and us) will read on just to find out what Shinobu will do and probably the author knows that too.

That is mainly the reason of this cliffhanger. "We had sex."

Will Shinobu be a Katsura Airi MC? He will state that he doesn't believe it and the fucboi will tell him "go to this address tonight, the door will be open" and we have Karami Zakari 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Or will Shinobu goes into depression mode, is comforted by Fumi but will go on with dead eyes while Sakura is getting her back blown by the fucboi with dead eyes as well until she has enough dick and decides that she wants to get back with Shinobu (specially after finding out that he never cheated) and we have much emotional scenes with her begging Shinobu to talk to her and a sad sack scene where Fumi tells Shinobu that she always knew he only had eyes for Sakura, blablabla, and they end up together?

I think it will be the second route.

When Karami Zakari went mainstream the work was highly sanitized but everybody knew what it was. But this work was supposed to be a romcom with NTR elements and the "elements" became the FMC being railed doujinshi style.

If she persists in this route it's the last time she will ever get a mainstream serial. And she will never get that kind of payday with doujins.
