Well, ppl are still alive so far, i think there was a manga of a daughter who killed her mother and interviewed in jail by a journalist that got a mother
I mean i don't know how many /actually/ go through with it but marriage between cousins is legal in there and other places versus just the cliche "ppl going through puberty hooking up with the closest person available"
Wouldn't be surprised if he just ghosted her tho idk how hard it is to hide/change ur identity and move away unless he like legit leaves the country or so
