Nope. That would either be ending maker and some others.
Thank god. It's a bit of mangadex lore, but solo leveling was so popular that by chapter 196, there were several hundred thousand views on that chapter within a few weeks, and four thousand visits and hundreds of comments would flood the site every upload so Mangadex would regularly crash every Wednesday.

I like Ending Maker, but the novel is far superior to the manhwa for me. The manhwa changed a bunch of the pop culture references to be less niche, and it just doesn't resonate as much with me.

Oh yeah in terms of manhwa, I have a preference for works that are made by a small passionate team cuz they tend to feel more idiosyncratic and less commercialized, even if I don't entirely enjoy the story.

So stuff like Dungeon Odyssey (it's like three guys), The Academy's Sashimi Sword Master, and Four-Cut Hero (one guy over nearly 15 years).

Dungeon Odyssey started out kind of bland and uninteresting but then it started getting hard-boiled and exhilarating to an insane degree. It's genuinely a gem. Ten outta ten.

I dropped Sashimi cuz it wasn't my thing, but I respect the team.

Four-Cut Hero has everything. (No literally. But I can't really tell you exactly cuz that'd be a spoiler.) I think y'all would enjoy it. It would be wildly inappropriate if it weren't so unserious at times.

I also enjoyed some of the old Naver webcomics like The God of High School (never finished it tho), and Tower of God, which has fallen off so hard post haitus to my great chagrin.

But the art style is cute…plus, the novel probably doesn’t describe Cordelia as well…
No offense but it sounds like you haven't read the novel. But to be fair I recognize that this is very much a personal opinion of mine and I'm very much a book person (not just weeb stuff).

As for Cordelia's appearance, there were novel illustrations/cover art and the manhwa art hasn't changed the character design at all.

Ntr has infected non-h manga???????!?!”
(dies again)
Yeah no joke, it is steadily becoming more common in normal manga recently, and as usual, the copycats who lazily follow trends, are now starting to make cheap NTR slop stories for mainstream audiences.

The writers who where all in on the isekai train are now moving to NTR as their next bowl of slop.

Contrary to how I may seem, I do not defend the NTR genre. I am aware of what it is, and do not try to glorify it.

It is not cool, it is shitty lazy writing most of the time. Only the bottom dwellers of the manga community like that crap.

@Cosmism It’s the subtle things in the manhwa, the little bit of her hair sticking out reflects her emotions: droopy=sad/tired heart: happy lighting bolt: shocked
Yeah I mean that's a fun Easter egg, and it's nice to see the attention to detail but the absence of such is not felt in a novel.

And you have a lot more gained (internal monologues, dramatic irony, even more cute/peppy repartée).

This isn't to say that I always prefer the novel of a manhwa or manga. Certainly not.

For example I tried reading the novel for Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, and I just couldn't do it because the quality of the prose was too poor. The author is a genius at crafting narratives but lacking in other respects. The same can be said of Solo Leveling. It is works like these that shine through when adapted by masterful storytellers.

Another example of a lackluster novel, well this one is actually rubbish, that has a genuinely fascinating manga is Mushoku Tensei. Well I stopped reading it aeons ago because I aged out of being impressionable enough to like something that gross.

On the other hand, there are occasionally, novels that hold particular spark that are lost in adaptation. For example Eternally Regressing Knight had some of the grittiest, most down to Earth, but still interesting battle descriptions I've seen in a fantasy work written in the past 30 years. The manhwa more than makes up for that with the character design, and humor, but still, lost in adaptation.

While the adaptations are top notch, The Novel's Extra, Got Dropped into A Ghost Story, Still Got to Work, A Villain's Will to Survive, and A Regressor 's Tale of Cultivation are all better in novel format.

Speaking of some of these, A Villain's Will to Survive has some of my favorite world building elements of all time, though it wasn't until after I read Thomas Pynchon's Mason & Dixon that I entirely understood why. I definitely recommend that book though it's long (~850 pages), and has some freaky stuff that could totally be left out. Postmodern novels amiright

A Regressor's Tale is one of the best xianxia/cultivation novels I've ever read. The cast and even the villains are engaging and fascinating. The cultivation lore is thorough and original. And it's by a Korean. :-|

Unfortunately it was ruined by the harem that was never meant to be. I do not say this as a euphemism or as a personal statement. The author (whose craft is clearly indisputable) caved to his troglodyte readers and made the MC poly despite no plans to do so. Genuinely drops the quality of the novel.
