Well since the author is a JP maybe they're onto something bwaahaha. The possibilities have narrowed down a whole lot compared to the last chapter but there's still definitely more than one possibility as to how this story will end. Ultimately the only end that matter is the end that Airi sees, as readers all we can do is have fun with some guesswork.

The more I think about it the more I remember there are people out there that have sex just for the sake of having a moment of pleasure in a life of depression.

Maybe this is Sakura's way of just coping when she gets sad. Hence the fact she's not really doing much. It's just sex for the sake of how she's handling her depression much like how Shinobu is by being in her room.
