i hope you continue at your own pace with the scanlation. the shitty snipe has WAY lower quality than your work, so thanks for that and keep it up!

I refuse to believe he knew she loved tomatoes and hated garlic while making the curry.
I call BS on that.
vampires liking tomatoes and disliking garlic are super common tropes in fiction, so why would he not know? it's not mentioned whether the curry thing happened before or after she told him that she's a vampire

Shoot, I didn't even notice. Well, I'm not one to be discouraged easily. I planned to finish it properly, so I will. And I'll keep up the quality too. I'd understand sniping if I didn't upload anything for months, but I guess some people can't help themselves.

It wasn't a snipe. You are translating a manga I finished in May. I was just afraid to upload and get into DMCA trouble. This was my first attempt at translating manga and I probably shouldn't have chosen a full color manga for my first work. Please continue your translation as yours look much better than mine.

No worries mate. I didn't look into it before, just that there wasn't anything on any of the major websites so I gave it a go. Originally, I started from scratch and translated from chapter 1, but put it on my website, since I was worried about DMCA. One of the mods on MangaDex gave me a green light in the comment section of another scanlation I'm doing, so after I was done with the first 9 chapters, I started uploading it both on MangaDex and on my website -> https://davemangascans.xyz/land-mine-vampire

I had issues finding a place to host it as well. I read the first 8 chapters here but they got taken down. They were translated by 2 different groups so I immediately assumed it got hit during one of the great DMCA purges. After nearly a year of waiting to see if it would pop up somewhere I decided to try translating it myself in October and find a place to upload while I was at it. I didn't bother with the first 8 chapters as they were available elsewhere and I can't redraw so I wouldn't exactly be improving on the original. I started on VyManga, but uploading stuff there is torture. I spent a full day trying to upload a chapter and gave up on the site completely. Before ditching Vy, though, I found MangaPark and had been uploading there until the site got region locked to Asia (and maybe Europe, I don't remember). That's when I made a website of my own to host the last few chapters; https://anoumitranslations.weebly.com/ When I started translating Shizune-chan wa Kyou mo Nemurenai and uploading to MangaDex I even mentioned in the credits page that Ai ga Omoi Jiraikei was my first manga but I didn't upload it because I assumed it wasn't kosher on MangaDex. I avoid the forum, so I had no moderator to ask. I'm only here now because I figured I had to post in strategic posts to explain why I dumped 9-20 on MangaDex. It seems I wasn't quick enough to avoid having a few wonderful users slander me for sniping and dunking on my inability to redraw before I even had a chance to post. The other sites I uploaded and on my Discord people were just glad to be able to read it at all. I was actually hoping someone else would pick it up at some point to release a cleaner product and I'm glad you're doing this. Doubly glad as despite the differences our translations are pretty similar so that's giving me some confidence in my translation that was completely missing before. I'm not fluent in Japanese and am using multiple tools as well as my limited knowledge of Japanese to translate.

All good. I'll make sure to add a note to a next chapter that we're cool or something.

Quick question. Is xyz free and easy to use? I wanted to make a site like that, but didn't know where to do it.
It's cheap, but it depends. It's just a domain, though. I host my site on cloudflare for free. My website doesn't actually store the images of the chapters. I post them on an outside image hosting, then implement them into a gist via code, and use cubarimoe (a manga reader) to share with people so they can read it. In short, my website is just a nice front with links to chapters hosted outside.

I think I'll stick with what I'm using. I don't know how to code and can't afford to buy a domain. The website I'm using isn't great for reading but it's free and easy to update. Now that everything is on MangaDex the website is just a backup in case something goes wrong here. I wouldn't be surprised to wake up one day and Ai ga Omoi Jirakei Vampire is wiped clean from MangaDex again. It was a Shounen Jump+ title after all.
