Itoko no Ko

Caaaahhh!!! Chapter 40 already released!!!Translate it!!!!

Fantastic, thank you for another enjoyable scanslation!

Really feeling like we're in the final arc. Last chapter I thought they sort of cleared the mystery box of events that set off the story, but I really appreciate that they're letting Nozomu now take his life into his own hands. He may not get to stay in the country side because of it -- if it's cleared up back home in the city -- but these are the tough choices that make a good story.

I wasn't expecting Kagosaki Umi-san to develop a crush after last few chapters where it seems like she was just awkward and wanting to apologize. But I also think there's a possibility for reconciliation with the other guy and that sort of pairing the spares would clear the way for a "six years later" time skip romantic reunion between Nozomu and Sou. Or something like that.

I LOVED Mikoto's reaction last chapter and still think she's a shipper on deck rather than a romantic rival, but I'd have liked to see more with her character if this is truly the end of the series approaching. I also think the sister is underdeveloped as a character, but there's potential for a "shared universe" spin-off story about the sister in the Idol business. I also think it's kinda fun to have such a notable side character who is to the characters really important, and has a very interesting backdrop for days in the limelight, but rather than turning it into a whole part of the story, it's allowed to sit there as just that - a lime light. Too often these days authors gets stuck trying to explore every interesting facet of their worldbuilding and character ensemble to the point that they lose track of the narrative and fail to get to the ending. I'm looking at you, George RR.

[Marandahir]

I'm so glad the author found a way to tie-in the "sister and her manager" subplot before getting to the end of the story.
While I'm okay with stories that have other characters who have their own lives and stories that are interesting asides but not part of this story, his relationship with his sister and her feelings about him and Sou is actually really important material to explore before ending the story.

Sou's Mother [Brain] might be the final boss, but his sister is Ridley.

[noegusis]

I actually want this to get an anime. An adaptation may improve the art 10 fold. Although the art style has its charm.

[Marandahir]

Xmas came early! Thank you!

Also, I totally didn't get last chapter that Grandpa and Sou were in Nozomu's room IN TOKYO.

Loving this arc. Want to see the sister's charade fall apart and have her more of a directly interacting character. But glad she and Mr. Manager-nii are finally getting some pagecounts as it feels like the story is otherwise wrapping up. And I'm glad Sou is here now too and not separated far afield.

[Marandahir]

Mikoto trolls Takeru fabulously this chapter - and I love that in her elopement ship, she sees Sou as the Humphrey Bogart running away with Nozomu the Bride.

Also, amazing capture of the feeling of the moment for Takeru's "depressed Pikachu noises".

[Marandahir]

Oh, reminder that the first volume is officially translated now and brought over to the US (and has been since November 2025).

I just got my hands on a copy. If you can find it and afford to do so, I strongly urge readers to support the mangaka by buying the official release!

[Marandahir]

I really like that it's the culmination of all his time with Sou that allowed Nozomu to find the courage to come here and rather than blame senpai, he asked to make peace and be friends. And did this diplomatically so that Kagosaki Umi wouldn't be screwed over by it and senpai wouldn't either.

This really makes it feel like we're at the cusp of a narrative climax. I'm wondering if there's only 5 chapters left. Sometimes authors target specific chapter goals when they want to tell a whole and complete story rather than one running on and on. This one has gotten an official English localization now, and with the increased attention to it maybe it will one day get an anime. To that I wonder if it's time to tie the story's loose ends up. Five chapters ago, before he went back home, I was concerned that Nozomu's sister was interesting just for the sake of being interesting while not actually getting any significant limelight. With this arc, I feel like we've explored nearly all that we'd HAVE to explore for me to feel satisfied with the series. If it ended at Chapter 50, I would feel sated. But I wouldn't say no to an extended narrative!

Thanks for another great scalanted chapter.

[Marandahir]

Thanks, I would have missed the Pooh edit meme if you hadn't pointed it out later in the credits page.

Now I wasn't expecting this complication and I'm interested to see where it goes!

[rankineenjin]

some tl's dropped for the latest chapter, but scanlater hasn't had the time

[BIG_J_MAN]

When does the author post new chapters and how long does it take to translate 😭

[neozeed]

The manga is on chapter 50, so we're 5 chapters behind. There's translations for one or two on 4chan but I guess everybody lost interest. We'd need to find another editor.

Alternative is wait. Volumes 1 & 2 are officially translated into English, with more volumes on the way.

If you're enjoying this series like me, please support the official localization, even though it makes different translation and editorial choices from the fanscanlation!

[anonymousboba]

Was anyone able to grab his pixiv before he nuked it ?

Simply put his username in google “inu chikushou” and you will find a-lot of his different side.

Hey, long as they don't edit out the loli incest feet.

[Nerevar2]

Hope someone will pick it up.

Hey, long as they don't edit out the loli incest feet.

Vol. 1 & 2 localizations exist already. I have them. Feet stuff is there, if that's your cup of tea. The taboo stuff is there too.

I don't expect they'll localize the non-bleached-underpants stuff, but I don't need that either, personally. I find the drama of the story much more interesting than anything they're doing to titilate the audience.

In anycase, at least through end of Vol. 2, I haven't noticed anything censored. Just different translational choices.

If this doesnt get picked up in 1 month, (total 6 months of inactivity) We'll pick this up.

Even with the official translation still going (even if it's many volumes* behind)?

I'll also note that multiple teams already translated the OG author's H-doujin of this series. If you're not associated with either of those translation teams, I'd check with them to see if they have plans to pick it up.

In any case, best of luck with the translation effort!

*Reminder to everyone, please do make an effort to buy the official volumes if/as they come out in your region/language!
