Vol 9 announced 600K copies total, and Vol 11 announced 750K:
That's 150K over two vols (9 + 10), which isn't, like, ultra popular, but it's still a healthy number that no publisher would axe a series over, much less Kodansha lmao (yes, I'm still, once again, angry about ヤンキーＪＫの異常な愛情). Obviously, some of that could've come from older volumes continuing to sell, but those are usually the minority.

On top of that, this series loves to GLOAT every time it hits #1 on one of the digital big boys, which is exactly what they did with vol 12's Obi, which was all about how they hit #1 on the DMM daily manga ranking (on top of the live-action streaming + some collab thingie).

So at the very least, ranking highly on digital platforms seems to be important for this series.

BUT, bad blood between a publisher and a mangaka can take many forms, so you can never completely rule it out.

With all that success it makes it all the more odd she would rip the heart of the story right out of the manga.

Now if this was guilty circle I could believe the publisher told them to wrap it up since it's just repeating itself over and over again.

BUT, bad blood between a publisher and a mangaka can take many forms, so you can never completely rule it out.

On the other hand, NTR has crashed a few series as many have pointed out throughout these threads.
That's why I'm really curious about the direction of Grapara in regards to what will mean to the mangaka mainstream career.

I don't even remember the whole details, but it had a total retcon around ch30. The happy ending was MCs dream or something like that. Then he had a fight with FMC and she ended up marrying another guy, while the FMC switch happened and the new one is a pure rip off of the 1st FMC.

I know a lot of people think that a relationship with Fumi would be a good development, but for me she is the main cause of the misunderstanding and consequently, the breakup, yet she does little no nothing no clear it up. At least for me, she looks as bad as the other guy.
What surprised me was the "a few months later" and showing that Sakura has been getting it non stop. I expected the drama to start early on, but now their relationship looks unfixable. I just hope it does not go into the NTS, Cuck or similar and that Shinobu grows some balls.

Another broken JP bro comment? lol It won't play out like that unfortunately, even if it is locked in Fumi route, than 131 is indeed the last time we see fuckboiXSakura. Now assuming the movie production process is going to be more than an offscreen afterthought and given the minimum number of chapters we have left it doesn't make sense to limit the cast of characters this early on, there's still a bit more story worth telling besides gratuitous scenes and pushing the consolation route along.
