Yeah am I missing something? Was there some limit to his powers mentioned earlier? I legit thought that if he “got” them, no matter the method, they were essentially his. Or is it like a “energy battery outage”-type deal?

Feels a bit cheap to arbitrarily introduce a limit to the big bad's powerset in the middle of the final showdown, but it is what it is. If it was somehow due to the centipede arms that'd be one thing, but then that'd beg the question of why not lead with that or have centipede use that ability to weaken him before the big battle.

I'm guessing that he never used a stolen power too many times so he never noticed that there was a limit to his copy ability, which obviously there should be.

Maybe abilities that are taken forcefully becomes unstable in his body, especially since he has a ton now or that Thicc Blues (Shinju Ward Blues) injected something to him along with the murder license. I'd love it if it's explained in the next chapter, but it seems unlikely.
