There may not have been. I mentioned a few time in the credits pages that the manga has some significant continuity issues and that might have been one of them. I just haven't bothered to re-read 1-8 to check.

Does nobody remember the early chapters? Seriously? The crest WAS mentioned, and so were his parents working over seas.

Mate, I read 1-8 almost a year before I started translating and only re-read chapter 8 for reference before I started translating chapter 9. Forgive me for not remembering something I read almost 2 years ago now from a manga that is extremely forgettable. Don't act like this translation only started a month ago or that everyone just started reading it yesterday.

Don't act like this translation only started a month ago or that everyone just started reading it yesterday.

I don't blame you for forgetting it was mentioned, but it's just kind of weird to say it's the manga's fault when really you just couldn't be bothered to re-read an earlier chapter.

There is no "continuity issue" here.

I re-read manga all the time. Not just my favorites. Some of them I consider to be bad and am giving a second chance. There are also dozens of ongoing translations that I have re-read multiple times to refresh my memory of earlier chapters. My current translation is 5 chapters in and I have already re-read them all at least 4 times each. Do not make it sound like I am too freaking lazy to re-read a handful of chapters. If I can't be bothered to re-read a piddling 7 chapters then it is the manga's fault for being that damn bad. I had planned to re-read the whole thing after translating, but the series was downright painful to read after the Dora-san arc. Any chance of a re-read from me went right out the window as soon as I realized that the plot didn't matter and that the series was rapidly de-evolving into a revolving door of unconvincing drama and cheesy as f rom-com tropes.
