Best case scenario this all eventually unveils more of what the hell is going with the MC's home country and is thus relevant to the main plot. Hopefully once that's done she can be tossed aside and eventually mostly forgotten about.

Judging from the flow of the story, I can think of something cliche about to happen. It's going to be a long chapters for this. The story will be about that childhood friend were strong look at front but weak and heartbroken at heart after knowing that MC is alive but with another girl. She may have been longing for MC as well but decided to be cold heart because of the other races with MC.

I agree, her attitude and personality especially towards MC isn't making me feel sorry for her losing her father,home,land, and lets not forget the people of her land that she abandoned to save her own skin. Yet, she wants to return to take vengeance on her uncle, and reclaim what was stolen from her.
