Rereading DnK, it was obvious Rui wasn't gonna win, Sasuga always gunned for a Hina endgame, but botched the execution. Rui was a plot device to prevent Natsuo from returning with Hina because she was basically his maturity mirror and Natsuo's final step into adulthood wasn't settling down with Rui because of having left her preggo, it was taking responsibility for Hina's feelings.

DnK main motif was what does it mean to be an adult? And sure as shit it wasn't about wanting to rail your nbr oneechan, neither your nbr imouto, but to learn to communicate and compliment with your couple, and he sucked dick at both of that during tge whole run.

Yeah the game is rigged from the start, I can't just accept that Natsuo make Rui pregnant but choose Hina in the end. That's total bs and unacceptable, at least if Rui didn't pregnant I wouldn't hate it so much. This is all just because Sasuga Kei has a fetish for oneechan type girl and rigged Hina to win.

And the last chapter is just everyone celebrate the wedding, include Natsuo and Rui's daughter which is very braindead. How tf they will explain it to her when she grow up and wonder why her father choose to left her mother and married her aunt instead. Is she just a produce of father and mother lust with each other?

If i remember correctly it was 2 year timeskip with a super open ending that didn't solve almost nothing.

I don't get why we're overlooking all the other NTR/romance plots in the manga with the side characters. It took long cause the main story is some guy wants to fuck Sakura and Shinobu or plot reasons stop her from going all the way meanwhile the side characters have their romance and their NTR stories being told in the arc. Why does everyone want the plot to stop just to have Sakura get fucked by some rando when Sakura and Shinobu weren't even dating like 50~ chapters in.

Shinobu confesses her love to Sakura in Chapter 66, while Sakura reciprocates Shinobu's feelings in Chapter 68. Both events take place in Volume 7.

Do yourself a favor and don't read it... It's really bad! It has great art and cute girls, but the whole story is garbage. And then the cluster fuck ending with a huge "write your own conclusion" was just a slap in the face.

Top 5 worst ending in my book, for sure...

I still say that the pregnancy was the wtf moment of dnk. Like I don't see how it could be anything other that writing yourself in the most dire of corners. While I have always believed that Hina was the endgame, there was really only two ways to go about that once the pregnancy happened, either mc marries Rui and you timeskip to a split and have MC get with Hina, since none of the issues that broke them up where resolved. The second was forced nonsense. In the end we got forced nonsense, but the latter would be such an abrupt switch at the last second that i doubt it would've been received that much better even if it made more sense. Rui's pregnancy is one of the biggest fumbles in manga imo.

Yes, the ending was planned. There was an afterword somewhere where he stated that he was glad he could end the manga as intended.

And if you read between lines, it's a depressing ending. MC is only kept alive by the kouhai amd her friend, but one momemt of negligence from them and he'll khs of he reads that letter or picks the unknown call.

It's up there with CSM and Oyasumi Pun Pun regarding the double entendre.

I still remember the GalClea! fiasco where the author sabotaged his gyaru romcom out of spite at his readers bc they were criticising his mamga, however, he took the criticism as personal attacks instead of a fuel to improve it and when Kodansha informed he was getting axed, he basically made those 8.xx and 9.xx chapters as a final fuck ypu to everybody before closing his social accounts
