Ahh abdomen instead of actually addressing what I said. Excellent choice of wording. Read my original comment. I clearly said I like what she contributes to the story, but I don't like her character.

Also I find it hilarious the level of mental gymnastics the Snake defense force go through to justify her actions. Hebikawa is an antagonist she is doing nothing but stirring the pot, and somehow she has this fanbase who will rationalize and justify anything she does simply because she is "Interesting". I find serial killers interesting. Am I going to go out if my way to defend them? No, so why is it that you Hebikawa defenders go through such lengths to defend someone with such a garbage personality?
So like how you were addressing what i said? Sure.
we like Hebikawa for antagonising them, it makes the story more fun. We want her to stir the pot because the pot needed to be stirred. Great of you to compare a fictional mildly mean high school girl to actual serial killers, shows your insane mindset.

I hate this trope of the they being so dense that he cannot fathom a girl who is a friend to ask him to eat them. He has two friends so asked him to go eat with him, why would ask why they would want to hang out with you? Then there's Hebikawa, who you think is still trying to bother you... you don't have to wonder why she wants to spend time with you (setting aside Hebikawa's actually reason). I get asking this at first, when you're only starting to know them... but now? It's been a year of friendship. It's also the first day of school. Forcefully trying to make the character oblivious just feels like trying to maintain a status quo through the protagonist that clearly doesn't or should not exist.

I will never understand the Hebikawa faction, the source of his original trauma but this chapter was uncomfortable and I appreciated it. Things are def going to be different now, I imagine it's going to have to be a lot of out of school stuff too since they aren't in the same class

Thanks for the tl

Snake is so far and beyond best girl it’s ridiculous, I didn’t expect Keisuke to be left without any of the girls in his class though.
While I absolutely hate her guts... if it wasn't for Hebikawa, this manga would be mediocre. She's the kind of spice that these stories need AND THANK GOD that the author didn't pull a tsundere card or something like "I was only acting mean becasue I liked him, but I am actually a really nice girl boo hoo." Hebikawa was a nasty person, and she still is, and I am glad she stays like this. It's a breath of fresh air, makes reading this interesting.

I don't buy Hebikawa at all. First of all, regardless of what she went through, she is a bad person to others and her experiences are not a get-out-of-jail card for that. Second of all, her relationship with the MC feels... forced at best. She rejected him in the past and then suddenly (author's plot ex machina) decided to start interacting with him again, as if they were ever friends to begin with.

Even if they were to end up together at some point, I feel their relationship would fall out shortly because of Hebikawa's snakey manipulative tendencies.

I think both ways of looking at snek are fine ? Those looking at her from a plot perspective and who enjoy how she is a refreshing love interest, stirs up drama and serves as a foil to Kusunoki have valid reasons to like her, but I understand those who prefer to look at her in-universe personality and express their distaste for her as well.

Some people watch manga for the interesting plot/HOW the characters are portrayed, some people to self-insert/immerse themselves in that world and root for/dislike people for who they are in-universe.

Like I think both sides can keep their own reasons and just enjoy the manga in their own way. Spoken as someone has seen so much back and forth here and also especially on reddit that I think it's cool to just relax and just respect the differences in terms of how readers prefer to see her.

Unless she literally stabs someone, everything she does will be brushed off as "not that bad." And even if she did stab someone, there would still be people defending her.
To be fair, the only character in this manga I can imagine Hebikawa stabbing, literally, is her mother's creepy ex. In which case, yeah, I'd expect droves of readers to defend her while her popularity skyrockets.

Your most generic, tropeful, retarded romcom chapter ever. Imagine paying for this. 👨‍🦼

So? Whatever the reason behind the invitation, the other two weren’t interested until she appeared, how is she the villain then? At least she’s proactively moving the plot forward. The other two also only joined because they fell threatened by her not because they suddenly felt like spending time with him? Maybe this will make them stop being so reactive from now on.
Way to miss the point, dude. Are you being deliberately obtuse? She's clearly being nasty, that's his whole point.
Being a good plot device and being a good person isn't the same thing. The guy is criticizing her personality not her importance for the plot, and you're conflating the two. She clearly does thing for her strictly personal gain. She doesn't care what others feel, including the protagonist who she seems to have a liking AFTER the fact that she started bothering him because she thought it was fun to bully him. She hasn't changed.

Please engage with this: Hebikawa is a nasty, terrible person, look at all the nasty things she does at the expense of others. We call people like her psycopaths.

This had to happen at some point. Maybe it could have happen differently, but hey! At least we have someone like Hebikawa waging the war, it's usually two friends who love each other declaring rivalry... this one is actually scary.

no one is saying she’s a nice girl, she is pretty mean, but that’s it, nothing she has done has been too far. The fact that you think she’s terrible and a psychopath makes me think you’re a kindergartener.
