Every time i see a character say shit like "It's okay it's the tutorial forest the most dangerous thing there is a rat" all i hear is "Pack of velociraptors incoming !".

Noble kids on a field trip contractually cannot go without an assassination attempt, it is an isekai law. My favorite take on the trope was in Heroine Survival, boy was that escalated like crazy (cuz Aria was like a god of death by that point).

It's supposed to test their mettle and resourcefulness. These are mostly sheltered nobles after all. I mean, notice the reaction some have to skinning an animal, they would have less such experiences with powerful magic at their disposal.

The stupidest thing of the magic seal, is that he apparently couldn't take it off himself, that he had to ask the prince. Was it only the prince who could take it off, or was it anyone else? That's just asking for trouble.

This test has extra score for taking down monsters, so allowing Cain to use magic would give his teammates too much easy free score advantage, and the country they are in, magic is rare. Allowing Cain to use magic would be like allowing someone to use gun, in Bow Contest.
