Glad they come up with a solution, This Queen Dowager seems like a problem.. Just hoping they didn't cause trouble in the next chapter..
Thank you for the translation.

Maybe it's just me but this seems to be one of the worst possible solutions for the baby. I cannot imagine her learning what a healthy marriage is from her "parents". And what are they gonna tell the kid? Are they gonna trust her to keep a secret about her "parents" relationship and take a massive risk of being exposed or lie to her and set an awful example for what a marriage is AND the potential trauma if the kid is raised in a lie and eventually finds out?
The more I think about it the worse I feel for her...

I get the feeling this series is leaning towards Cain 'growing out' of his fixation, I mean, it was presented as a flaw when he tried to murder someone with a chair for proposing to her. If you really want to see a Duke's Daughter going full Lannister with the Duke's Son, read the manhwa Lady Devil.
I really hope that trick won't happen

The marriage is only there for the public. The child is raised with the idea of a single mother and a grandfather with a possible step-dad coming in later. The truth of the confusing paperwork will be exposed to her at a later time, as that's unimportant.

Diana learning a new word she can use in the future :meguusmug:

Thanks for the TL! Looking back at the first chapters you released, learning and progress does wonders when you practice consistently :meguuusad:

Ah, so all the child has to do is ... never interact with "the public" (Which is basically everyone except the characters in this chapter and maybe 1-2 trustworthy servants?) And if the child ever interacts with "the public" she has to be trained to lie about her parents... Which comes up a lot in conversations with kids btw: "how are your parents/siblings?" is for kids about as common as "How's work?" is for adults. Not to mention how being taught marriage is just a piece of paper that doesn't mean anything and can just be obtained through fraud and exploited for personal gain might cripple her ability to find good relationships after she grows up.
Not to mention it's robbing the child of the exact thing the mother said she wants to give her daughter: A big family: This way she misses out on having a father and older siblings as a baby.(And increases the risk of potentially losing out on younger siblings too in case her mother fails to find a step-father)

Dude it's pretty simple, the Prince basically only has a couple years to live. The child probably isn't even going to remember him and will basically just know her mom is a widower, and that's only if she never gets with the original arranged marriage partner who seems really chill with everything. She'll grow up probably thinking the son is her father, probably learn a little later he mom was in fact a widow and the son is her step father, and once she's ready and able to keep a secret will they only maybe bother to tell her the whole truth.

And this is not getting into the fact that the whole charade only needs to hold until the Queen Dowager dies, because she's the only reason the sham needs to exist because everyone is afraid she's going send assassins again. Once the old bitch dies it doesn't matter if the secret gets exposed because everyone involved who'd want to cover it up is dead.

Lol, it's ridiculous to write off those early deaths with no extra information. Someone I cared for very dearly survived 12 years with a terminal leukemia diagnosis and no treatment until the final months, and that's nothing compared to some people man, Queen Elizabeth lived to be 96 years old, they survive just 3 years well now the child can speak and have memories(and for some kids this happens earlier in life), they survive 7 years and the kid's definitely screwed because of pointless risk. HOWEVER if the MC based his choice on knowledge from the game and we had a thought bubble saying he knows these characters die early because of events he knows from in-game I'd be on your side.

It adds unnecessary risk and complications which are extremely likely to be harmful for the child, and if you want to rely on the arranged marriage partner then he would have been a safe marriage choice from the start(nothing is guaranteed mind you but nowhere near as risky as the chosen path)
