ah so altho he’s talented he wasn’t accepted because his grandpa would interfere with their works, now with an anchor on his back and the fact that he joined as a form of punishment then the grandpa shouldn’t be able to say much, the corp would get a talented young man, the man would get a job he desired, and he shouldn’t mingle with our Di it’s a win win to all really.

But what of murder and manslaughter, I might be wrong but you either get convicted for murder or manslaughter, murder requires intent while manslaughter doesn't; intent does matter if it's baked into the law or is a prerequisite to conviction

But those are the same crime, just different severity; They both are sub categories of the crime of homicide. Murder even has its own sub categories, and there's a big difference between first degree and third degree. Not to mention, few places don't even have manslaughter as a possible charge, and instead have fourth degree murder.

In a similar way, Treason is a term with its own sub categories, and there's a big difference between lese-majeste and regicide, both of which are treason. I imagine he'll likely be found guilty of petty treason, but when threatening his family, being vague is more helpful in reaching their goals.
