Airi can pull the sudden development to Shinobu too because Airi never maid a proper build up to make the characters improve it only happened out of nowhere.
Shinobu looked like he was the only one trying in story.
Even in his talk with fuckboi, he tried to speak out but that guy didn't let him speak and just kept going off.
I think Shinobu's problem is that he wasn't able to see the insecurities, he wasn't able to see Sakura's suspicions and he wasn't able to see how Fumi compared to Sakura. I think it could be said that he took too long to communicate.

Both Shinobu, who has been trying to communicate all along, and Fumi, who had also consistently been a character who tried to communicate with Shinobu since the first movie shoot—even confessing her love to him during the performance. And in Chapter 132, wasn't Fumi the one who tried to communicate with Shinobu by inviting him to her room and becoming intimate with him after trying to talk to him about Sakura?

Well the netorare needed to happen in volume 12 or the middle of 13 she took way to long in dragging it out but then again readers were bound to be turned off by it so it may have been cancelled earlier. But then she would have had time to better show us the aftermath of it and do something better than what we have gotten Sakura is largely ilrelivent to shinobu's story now it's two parallel stories that's why the ending is so rushed and haphazard.
