I don't really know but in romance manga in general not all that rare. Funny thing is I can't really remember the names of any that ended like that now that I think of it I guess they are forgettable.

The only hint of any awareness of the aftermath chapters is when the article mentions the countdown to the conclusion which only came around in 134.

It's curious that the article refers to chapter 129, when they were going to penetrate Sakura, but doesn't mention anything about what happens afterward. Don't give me false hope that the NTR happens in 129.5 and they'll release a new canon chapter 129. I don't really know if Katsura wrote or supervised the writing of that article.

FYI, If you look at the computer filename of the article "gura_20260723", it's the day the chapter 134 was uploaded at midnight.

As we all know that chapter 134 suddenly informed us that Grapara will end in chapter 136. But the chapter 134 itself seemed incoherently connected with chapters 132 and 133.

While those chapter 132 and 133 chapters appeared to set a stage to continue for more chapters to resolve the misunderstanding (it's used as bait to hook readers), the chapter 134 announced the ending and the misunderstanding will not be resolved (lacks of chapters to do that) !

IMHO, Airi Katsura (sensei) wrote the article to vent her frustration over having to do something she didn't want to do with only 3 chapters left.

She might want to destroy Sakura and Shinobu and drag the story out, but she was ordered by Kodansha to wrap it up abruptly and forced to reunite the two characters together. LOL

Agree to @diphuc1 that the article implies Shinobu won't end up with Fumi.

However, I believe that any good ending is not enough to revive the sale of Volume 14 because the root of all problem is the fact that Sakura was raped (forced sex) in chapter 129. If AK (sensei) didn't change this story, it's impossible to compensate to reader with the good ending.

I don't see any way for her to escape from the rom-com readers' blame for the "love comedy fraud" unless chapter 129 is fixed.

There is no telling what or when enraged radical fans would do to her because she became their enemy since chapter 129. And if her neighbors know about the backlash, nobody cares what happen to her because she'll become the enemy of the society as well.

Postponing the release of chapter 136 to be after the Comiket only buys her time. It does not solve the problem. There are a lot of Japanese readers who bottle things up and resort to violence. So, many manga artists didn't reveal their real identities till now especially those who are females. AK (sensei) made a mistake by using her real full name instead of a pen name and Karami Zakari also forced her to show up many times.

If I were her, I'll revise the chapter 129 and let what cucboy said to Shinobu was a lie. So, I don't have to live with fear or paranoia from the invisible culprit (if any). It's to kill many birds with one stone!

Well I certainly hope for no invisible culprits.

Even with a single chapter it could still be possible to resolve the misunderstanding IF Shinobu and Sakura reunite, but it also is true that many readers will not find this sufficient since the last interaction they had is the breakup text in 130.

Another issue now is that the only person who can clear up the misunderstanding is Shinobu alone as Fumi has disqualified herself with her current actions and insecurities towards Sakura. Depending on how Shinobu reacts it also feels like he could be too distracted by Fumi and his movie in the final chapter. It really is hard to predict which direction the finale is headed towards, maybe we'll get even more time skips outside of the epilogue.

I didn't check if the article was written by Kasura Airi herself, but overall I found it to be an okay read/summary of the story personally, I find it funny that the article does still refer to GraPara! as a ROM-COM, so it does set some interesting expectations for the finale yet.

Torture Shinobu for a good few chapters, gives him Fumi for two chapters, then reveal some Fumi issues the next, into suddenly having Fumi go off scripting in 135 for...bait? (to be seen!)

Airi is certainly a writer of all time! Maybe Kodansha to be partially blamed for the pacing issues at this point.
