Well yeah, I'm the main character of a story. "But, who's the author?" It's me, I'm the author of my own story with a bunch of genre such like:
Comedy, tragedy, gore, erotica, romance.

But right now I'm on my "after story", so the main story is already happened

I hope to just be a side character, I wouldn't read my book if I was the main character. Too much depressing contemplation and intense "Gooning"

No such thing. I'm just a member of a community far larger then me, even then I am very forgettable and don't leave an impression. If I were to be a character in a story I'd be a backliner apparition with no impact to the story.
