Same, eating only a few is highly unsatisfying. But to compensate i rarely eat them. Ate 4 croissants the day before yesterday though.

Every person in life must have to compromise between freedom and respect in every course of action. Embarrassment is the compromise of that respect, but it's also something you do for yourself, something that makes you somewhat 'free' and 'you.'
Hence, feeling shame for something you enjoy isn't a bad thing; it's the pride of doing something for yourself.

I feel ashamed of myself all the time. And like @kohelemon I oftentimes relive my embarrassment. In grade school a girl I had never talked to before asked to hug me out of the blue. I quickly did and then just walked off without saying a word. I never did talk to her after either. One of my oldest haunts. Once tried to sell 1 smoke I found for 10cents to my classmates, they just looked at me are you serious? Was on the cash register while work learning for the first time, a customer bought a new phone battery and i shook his hand.

I thought those blues were links 'cause mine are set to blue.
But yeah, dodging bullets, vehicles, preventing delicate and valuable things from breaking, etc. would be what I'd use them for.
In a sense it's 3 extra seconds of reaction time so unless it's something simple I'd probably f-up its usage.
