It was very worth working on it until morning after I got home from part-time at 12 midnight, soaked by a sudden downpour (lol). I didn't recognize the romaji but the fact that my mind went "oh this must be that one anime with the three girls" and ended up being correct only added to your statement that it was one of the few anime/manga that did this
