Since I rarely read English book (only English WN/LN/VN that generally had easier English writing) so I can't share similar experience about English books. But, probably the most annoying book for me is still The Broken Wings by Kahlil Gibran (I read the Indonesia translation version: Sayap-Sayap Patah). The way he wrote the story down as poetry is really tiring for teenager me.

For example, just imagine something like this. He want to write that the ML (male lead) really love the FL but they can't be together since the FL was forced to marrying someone else. Then, Gibran write something like,

Yes. Probably it's really romantic and heart touching for some people, but since I'm not really into poetry, so this book still becomes one of the books that I'll not read again for a while.
