So Shurine at the start of the story was very much fighting because she was told to, she had no motivation herself she was just a mercenary in it for the love of the game.

In this fight though that isn't quite enough and it represents the moment that Shurine realises something we the audience have known for a few chapters. That she's fighting for Lutecia her wifey.
She's also badly wounded and exhausted, so it's probably a bit literal too from the confusion that causes.

Manga fights rarely work well for me, and this is sadly no exception... probably would look great animated by the right studio.

The "why am I fighting" moment seemed bizarre; my guess was that Claude was unleashing some despair/demotivation attack (this came right after the prince told him to stop playing around), which then got canceled by the Power of Yuri. The fact that we're guessing shows a flaw in the writing, IMO.

She was disoriented and confused thanks for the sword's negative effect on her since the begining of the fight. The moment she remembered the reason she was fighting, there was a surge of adrenaline, which is not unheard of even in real life. It's not that hard to figure it out.
