In sr classes, we were allowed to keep phone to make calls.
But not use during classes
And I fully support that
In college though... I was playing disco Elysium in laptop

I said fuck off to a 2nd year senior
And they said nothing, cause they thought I was third year

On one hand, yes good for socializing, on the other you need it to call people and be connected with happenings
dumb phone can only call and I personally find that phone calls are just the most miserable slog at times.
Maybe it's because I never had any good phone calls.. ever.

I never got to use phone at school, cause my school never allowed it in the first place
From my experience, it doesn't kill a kid if they don't get to use phone for 8 hours back in the day

Depends on the setting if it is one requiring focus, ban them.
I also personally have an ax to grind against people who second screen view stuff so if there was a law banning that, I'd vote for it. It makes sense if you've seen it before, but if it's something new, the frick is wrong with you!? Either sit back and watch or put on something interesting.
That said. I believe that a good show will make you drop that second screen.
