Gosh, I adore this silly little story. Give me more silly, romcom-level things where people can be "cruel" without doing so because the writing makes them stupid and evil to allow it.

Yes, just pretend the childhood friend amnesia arc never existed...

The pieces are looking like mind control to me. If it was just a few wives bailing for status I could see it, but all of them, for no gain? Something unnatural is at play.

This manga never ceases to amaze me holy. Even with the memory loss arc being its lowest point, Arcs like these is what hoists it up as one of the greatest.

I wonder if establishing that this new King of the neighboring kingdom is able to charm the women around him will become some future plot point where he visits here on some diplomatic mission and tries to get his magic around Celeste. Would she be able to resist?

Yeah, it sounds like mind-control to me too. However, would it make sense to do mind-control immediately after an amnesia arc? They feel too similar to be so close to each other.

Considering how it was stated that many of these women had children/families, I wonder if their families are being threatened and many of them are using "love" to make their partners hate them rather than worry? Or maybe that's too deep LMAO

Celestine's criticisms are valid -- a ransom does need a time and place in addition to an amount to actually be effective -- but the fact that they were able to haul her husband away with just the three of them does deserve to be commended.
